Waiting for Lefty is a 1935 play by the American playwright Clifford Odets, and his first to ever be produced. Framed by a meeting of cab drivers who are planning a labor strike and composed of seven vignettes, the play takes place at a union meeting of taxi drivers, where union boss Harry Fatt tries to dissuade the men from striking. With Black Lives Matter, living wage protests, Disability Rights and Access, Trans Lives Matter, the debate for healthcare for all, and more human rights work, Mr. Odets' play could not be more timely.
